Since we’ve been blogging now for a couple of months, and we have yet to introduce ourself properly, I though we should do a get to know me post each. So both Jenny and myself have decided to do a little getting to know me post. For mine, I have decided to keep with the generic ‘getting to know me’ questions, since it’s the way of giving you guys a little inside into us, without over flooding you with information. Hopefully you guys will know us each a little better afterwards.
1. What is your middle name?
Oh god, theres a whole family drama over this. Basically my mum is adamant that my middle name is hyphened on to my first, making me Hana-Leigh. My dad, says its just my middle name. Honestly, it’s a whole big thing, since neither of my parents have my birth certificate (thanks for that). But, I generally use it as a middle name, so my middle name is ‘Leigh’.
2. What is your favourite food?
I love, love, love Chinese! Oh my gods, can anything beat a good special fried rice with duck in plum sauce? So good!
3. Are you a dog person or cat person?
Ah, this hard. I love most animals, but I would have to go with dogs purely because I own two myself.
4. What is something you wish you were gifted at doing?
Well, when I was a kid, all I wanted to be able to do was magic – you know like Harry Potter. So does that count? Or do I have to go with the totally more boring option of memorising. I wish I could remember everything I’ve ever read, so that revising is easier.
5. What is the first book you remember reading?
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone! I was obsessed from the age of about 7 with Harry Potter. I was raised with it, but that was the first book I ever properly read to myself (no including those magic key books) and I’ve read each so many times since.
6. What is your favorite fairytale?
I love fairytales! My favourite is probably either the original version of Alice in Wonderland or Cinderella. I know the originals are so much darker, but thats what makes them so much better. They aren’t just for little kids.
7. What is your favorite ice-cream flavour?
Oh its got to be Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie! Its the best.
8. What is your star sign?
I’m a Leo and proud! Im also the Zodiac sign of the tiger, so really Im just one big cat 🙂
9. Who was your first best friend?
Oh thats easy, it was and always will be Jenny. I’ve known her from pretty much the time I was born, so she was always going to be my best friend.
10. What is your biggest fear?
Oh gods. Im rather proud to say that I’m generally not scared of much, however I have 2 deathly fears. One of wasps and bees, but I am working on that one, and the second of disappointment. I hate the idea of disappointing the ones I love.
11. What countries would you like to visit?
All of them? Im a huge travelling soul, I love to travel and to see new things. But i did actually do a post on this which you can find here, but my top 2 would be China or Brazil.
12. What do you consider unforgivable?
Disloyalty, to be betrayed or used by one of my closest friends would be the most devastating thing for me.
13. If you could, what is the one thing you would change about yourself?
Ah, okay so I have to admit I would generally go with one of the more classical or traditional things, my appearance. I just think it would give me so much more confidence. But I would also wish to also be more comfortable in my own skin, so I suppose that is my answer.
14. What is one thing that motivates you to work hard?
I know that if I work hard now, I will get where I want to go and do what I want to do later. The better my grades are, the better I do at university, the more likely I could change things. I know this isn’t always true, but for me I just think about how much I want to know and what I want to do.
15. Would you prefer going to a cinema or watching a movie at home?
I love both! I love the experience of going to the cinema, sitting down with popcorn in front of the big screen with some friends is honestly an amazing night out for me. But sometimes you can’t beat settling down with a hot chocolate and a blanket at home.
16. What was your ambition when you were a child?
I really want to be a cat – haha! It was the best, but so unrealistic. So as I got older i wanted to be something far more realistic. A witch 😉
17. Would you rather ride a horse or motorbike?
A horse. Hands down. Although I do want to ride a motorbike one day too.
18. How do you characterize yourself; religious or spiritual?
I am 100% not religious, however I would say that I am rather spiritual. I’m not one of those people who will totally dispute any belief, I accept that some people believe and I find their beliefs fascinating. I don’t know what I ultimately believe, but thats another question all together.
19. What are the three top things on your bucket list you want to complete soon?
I love the whole concept of a bucket list and I really want to do a post on one of these at one point, but my top three things on it at the moment involve: Attending a Masquerade Ball, Working in a Bookshop and See the Northern Lights.
20. A genie granted you three wishes that cannot be undone. What are the three things you would wish for?
Oh my gods, okay. 1, For my family to succeed in life and to be happy. That way my family will always live a happy life and my brother would have a bright future. 2, The ability to learn and understand anything at an extreme rate and be able to recall it at any time when needed. That way I can speak any language once I’ve learnt it and I can remember anything I need when required. 3, Magic, but physical magic that glows so you can see it, just to be even more awesome. So that I can be that witch that I always wanted to be.
So there are 20 questions about me, if you have any more please feel free to ask them in the comments below! Look out for Jenny’s one coming soon. xx
