I love films! Honestly, one of my favourite things to do in the evening is to curl up in front of a good film with a hot chocolate or cup of tea in my onesie, which coincidently I am doing now. So, as I sit here in my onesie, watching Frozen, I thought what would be better than to share my list of my 8 favourite films with you.
1. Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
To be honest, any one of the Harry Potter films could easily take up the number one spot, but I decided just to pick my favourite, or 8 of the 9 spots would be filled up with these films. I adore them! Really I could just watch them all day. My dad started to read me the books when I was 7 years old and I was hooked since, so naturally I watched them all when they came out and I generally find them so comforting. I could go on about them for days, but I’ll keep this short. I don’t want to bore any of you 😉
2. We Bought a Zoo
This is my go to film when Im feeling a little down. I love it. It originally came out as a book, but never even thought to read it until I saw the film and went to visit the actual zoo its based off (by complete coincidence). The whole thing is just so happy and since its based off a real events its not too idyllic. Its got an amazing cast too.
3. Captain America Civil War
I love the marvel films equally as much, but I have to say this one seems to win out. I honestly watched this hundreds of times over the summer, since it was literally my go to. I really enjoy superhero films and shows. They remind me of what I always wanted when I was kid (and maybe what I might still wish some occasions 😉 ). Captain America Civil War, is just one of those great films, with an amazing cast and a good load of action to top it off.
4. Any Disney Film.
If you guys don’t know me by now, you should know that I completely love Disney. Who doesn’t love Disney? Im pretty sure its impossible to not like Disney, even the tiniest bit. Anyway, some of my favourites has got to be Moana, Brave, Tangled, Frozen and Beauty and the Best, especially the new one. If I’m ever feeling a little bit low, or in need of a film, any Disney movie is the perfect thing.
5. Guardians of the Galaxy
My next few films are really hard for me to pick, since the next few are constantly changing with each new film. The soundtrack of Guardians of the Galaxy really is the best soundtrack to any non-Disney film I’ve ever heard. I could listen to it for hours. That along with the entertainment value of the jokes makes those film a great fun one to watch on a evening in.
6. The Mummy
If you don’t know, I’m taking Classical Civilisations, which is essentially ancient history, just to a slightly more focused level. One of the big reasons why I took this course is because I’m fascinated by ancient worlds, especially ancient Egypt. This film was the reason behind it and was what encouraged me to look at the ancient Egyptian language. My mum and I like to sit together on her bed and watch this film together. its like a family tradition.
7. A Knights Tale
This is also one of those films that reminds me of my mum, since its ‘our film’. We put it on, on a Saturday evening and curl up together in our pyjamas and watch it together. Its such a feel good film with some amazing music. I love it every time!
8. Wonder Woman
I know this film came out only this year, but oh my goodness it was so good! If you ever want to watch about a powerful woman, this is the film for you. I don’t usually enjoy DC films, I am purely a Marvel girl, but I have to say, I loved it. It was full of action and was exciting. i really enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to get it on DVD so I can see it again.
Those are my top 8 favourite films at the moment, I hope you enjoyed my little list. Please let me know below what you favourite film is, I would love to know.
